In the « Le Massegu secondary school », we have the opportunity this year to offer a new course to our final year students: LCE (in French «Langue et Civilisation Etrangère»).
This course is divided into three parts, all taught in English: physics/chemistry (Mr Alexandre), biology/geology (Mr Kabiri), mathematics (Mme Paulin). There is always an English teacher (Madam Vartore) in the class.
We began the year with activities about gravity (physics). Firstly, we saw a video on Luke Aikins who was the first man to jump off a plane without a parachute. We analysed his fall (graphics, calculation of maximum speed…). The final task for the students was to act out an imaginary scene including Luke, like an interview of him during the fall.
Next , we worked on the maple seed which spins during its fall. The students analysed the shape of the seed and the impact on the fall. They had to build their own helicopter seed and finally, present their work on a poster.
You can see down below the video of this projet ! Thank you!
